This is the largest kitchen we’ve built to date, anchored by an 8-by-12-foot walk-in pantry with full custom cabinetry. We reconfigured most of the first floor, opening the wall between the kitchen and living room to create a true open-concept layout, then built the new kitchen around it. The renovation also included a mudroom, a home office carved out of an existing closet, a refreshed powder room, and a second powder room off the mudroom. The kitchen itself is outfitted with high-end, panel-ready appliances, including a full wall of range and two dishwashers.
A few details make this kitchen feel effortless: the dishwashers disappear behind matching panels, and a toe-kick heater tucked beneath the cabinets allows heating to seamlessly flow into a room that doesn’t have forced hot air, without the wall demolition that solution usually requires. A custom antique mirror backsplash, sourced from a fabricator who specializes in antique glass, adds unexpected texture behind a small bar area.
We handled this project in-house from cabinet design through installation, working with our in-house design team and lumberyard partner while the homeowners selected finishes. The existing home office got a smart reconfiguration by resizing a closet to make the space truly functional, all without expanding its footprint. We also collaborated with Farrow & Ball on the paint palette, landing on bold, creative colors that give the home real personality
