Our custom home & remodeling services

All of your home building and renovation needs

Custom homes

custom home is a significant capital investment that requires more than just a builder—it requires an elite management firm. At White Maple Construction, we apply The White Maple Standard to every custom build, utilizing our Two-Build Rule to finalize every technical specification and cost on paper before site work begins. From navigating complex Northern New Jersey zoning boards to the final 2-10 Warranty handoff, we ensure your legacy home is delivered with radical precision and total cost certainty.

We transform aging assets into modern masterpieces through a systematic, “no-surprise” execution. Our whole-home remodeling process eliminates the typical volatility of renovation by vetting every structural and aesthetic detail during The First Build. Whether we are reimagining a historic estate in Ridgewood or a modern residence in Summit, we focus on architectural harmony and impeccable finish—ensuring the physical construction phase is a seamless transition to your new lifestyle.

Expanding your home’s footprint through an addition or add-a-level demands surgical precision and architectural synergy. Whether you are planning a master wing, a great room, or a full add-a-level, we manage the complexities of structural integration and local permitting across Bergen, Morris, Union, and Essex Counties. By finalizing all structural and material selections during pre-construction, we deliver major additions that feel like an original part of the home—executed on schedule and strictly within our Construction Cost Specification.

Custom home & remodeling FAQs

It depends on the extent of your remodel. Smaller renovations might allow you to stay, but extensive projects usually require temporary relocation for your comfort and safety. Once we review your specific plans, we’ll advise you on the best approach.

Absolutely. Our team manages all required inspections throughout your remodel to ensure every stage complies with local building codes in New Jersey. We handle the paperwork so you can focus on your home’s transformation.

Typically, yes. Updating your home with modern layouts, finishes, and systems usually boosts its market value. Our team can suggest remodeling choices that provide the best return on your investment in the New Jersey market.

Transparency is key for us. If we uncover unforeseen problems, we’ll immediately bring them to your attention, discuss possible solutions, and clearly outline any impact on your timeline or budget.

Of course! Personalizing your home is central to our process. We offer guidance on choosing materials and finishes that reflect your style while aligning with your budget and the practical demands of your remodel.

Yes. Every White Maple project is backed by a two-year written workmanship warranty covering defects in our installation and construction — framing, carpentry, drywall, tile, cabinetry, plumbing and electrical work performed by our team and licensed subcontractors. Products and materials carry their manufacturers’ warranties, and we assist you in facilitating any manufacturer claims. New custom homes carry additional coverage, including 10-year structural protection, through New Jersey’s New Home Warranty Program.

And we don’t wait for you to find a problem. We schedule proactive visits at 6 and 12 months after completion to walk the project, inspect our work, and catch anything that’s settled or shifted — a service that goes beyond the warranty itself. You don’t have to call us; we’re already on your calendar.

We’ll guide you through the preparation process, including suggestions for packing belongings, protecting valuable items, and clearing necessary areas. Good prep helps us work efficiently and keeps your possessions safe.

Your addition or custom home project will be managed by one of our experienced construction managers and overseen by Tom, our Co-Owner and Head of Operations. They’ll coordinate with subcontractors, track progress, handle communication, and ensure your project stays on schedule and within budget.

Yes. We’re fully insured, and we recommend you verify your homeowner’s policy covers remodeling activities. If additional coverage is needed, we can assist you in understanding the requirements.

Our clients appreciate our attention to detail, transparent communication, and deep local experience. We prioritize quality and relationships; many of our clients become repeat customers and referrals because of the exceptional service and results we consistently deliver.

Every White Maple project is built twice — once on paper, once in the field. The First Build is our pre-construction phase, where we finalize your plans, selections, and a fixed price before any physical work begins. The Second Build is construction itself, guided entirely by the decisions already made in the First Build. This sequence keeps changes and cost surprises to a minimum, because the hard questions get answered while they’re still cheap to solve — not mid-construction, when they’re expensive.

Pre-construction is the First Build of our Two-Build Rule, and it’s where most of the risk in your project gets removed before it can cost you anything. During this phase, we finalize your architectural plans, lock in every material and finish selection, and build a fixed-price Construction Contract — so you know exactly what you’re getting and what it costs before a single wall comes down. We also map out the full construction schedule and prepare permit applications in advance, so once the Second Build starts, it moves without stalling on decisions that should’ve been made earlier. The result: fewer surprises, fewer change orders, and a remodel that stays on the budget and timeline you agreed to.
